In Belgium, health care providers overcharged the health care insurance system by €18.3 million

In Belgium, health care providers overcharged the health care insurance system by €18.3 million, as a result of control measures completed in 2023 by the Medical Evaluation and Inspection Department (MEID) of the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI). 8 million was deliberately overcharged, with the remainder due to administrative errors or misinterpretation of the regulations.
